CUNARD
Cunard commissioned Double Decker to curate the world’s largest art collection at sea for their flagship cruise liner, the Queen Anne.
Drawing inspiration from the historic Cunard archive in Liverpool, Double Decker built a collection of over 4,300 artworks from established and emerging artists throughout the world to celebrate Cunard’s rich heritage and spirit of innovation.
Guests are welcomed on board by Ian Kirkpatrick’s seminal A Cunard Journey – a striking kinetic work stretching the full height of the triple-storey Grand Lobby. Throughout the ship, specially selected sculptures, paintings and tapestries frame Cunard’s most elevated cruise liner to date. From the next-generation talents of Parsons, the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins in the Vertical Galleries to a groundbreaking series of fashion photography exploring vessel design and contemporary dance, the partnership between Cunard and Double Decker advanced the boundaries of art curation while celebrating the elegance of travel.
