ROSEWOOD MUNICH

Rosewood Munich

The opening of Rosewood Munich was the city’s hospitality event of the year, creating a Modernist gem in the historic headquarters of the State Bank of Bavaria.

Rosewood commissioned Double Decker to create a substantial art collection for the city’s finest hotel. The result is a body of work that leans into the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Munich, juxtaposing contemporary artists with old masters and mid-century motifs.

The hotel’s centrepiece artwork is a substantial canvas by Hannelore Kroll, while the suites feature specially commissioned pieces by the acclaimed Thomas Trum. From Op Art to Rococo, Double Decker’s layered collection celebrates Munich’s legacy from Empress Sisi to the 1972 Olympics, weaving a creative narrative throughout the hotel, from its bars to its suites.

As well as curating the hotel’s extensive art collection, Double Decker created signage and branding throughout Rosewood Munich
